For over a year Buffer was seeing a steady decline in their weekly Facebook organic reach to around 2%.
Then they tested a new approach and it resulted in a 240% increase in Facebook reach and engagement.
#1. They decreased number of posts from 4-6 to 1-2 posts per day maximum.
#2. Now they only post ‘Edu-tainment’ and curated content on Facebook. Educational posts such as infographics, entertaining posts such as silly gifs and curated content such as this great cartoon they sourced from elsewhere.
#3. They used to only focus on getting traffic from Facebook to their website. Now Buffer says they understand the long term value in brand awareness and engagement directly on the feed.
#4. Now they can easily boost the best performing posts ONLY and they are seeing massive results. (Buffer spends $40 per day for the curious types)
