A show by Tracy Morgan was not selling the way that Primm Valley Resort and Casino expected it to.
They applied one trick to increase sales by 400%.
Here it is:
Instead of “get your tickets, click the link”, the email they sent out used language like “play for your chance to win free tickets from us.”
The “Pick-a-Tracy” game – People would simply click on a Tracy head to reveal a prize underneath, hoping to win one of two grand prizes (two tickets and a hotel stay)
If they didn’t win anything they could buy the tickets.
Result: a 400% increase in the rate of ticket sales compared to prior efforts once the team started gamified emails.
